A note on the dates
These windows are guides, not gospel. A frost pocket three streets away, a west-facing slope, or a warm microclimate against a wall can all shift things by weeks. The rule of thumb: in the north, push spring plantings earlier; in cold inland areas, wait until the soil warms and hold your nerve until after the last frost. If it’s been a strange winter, check soil temperature before sowing heat-lovers like tomatoes, capsicum, kūmara and corn.
Moon-planting dates are traditional biodynamic guidance — treat them as a bonus cue, not a substitute for good soil prep.
